Solution: Hara Bhara, India’s first aerial seeding campaign in Telangana using the Seedcopter drone. The idea of the campaign is to accelerate the mission of reforestation by planting one billion trees using drones by 2030 in the country.
Problem: The lockdown impacted examinations, and in most cases, schools had to either cancel or postpone the exams. Evaluation, especially for high stake exams that require access to resources and strict invigilation, continues to remain a problem for institutions to conduct online.
Solution: Artificial intelligence provides a fair response to this issue. Solutions looking to engage and evaluate online exam environments through retinal tracking, environment stimulus tracking, and IP tracking.
Mettl is Mettl is an online assessment platform providing solutions to track and measure technical, aptitude, and psychometric skills. It is providing digital exam solutions using AI and ML.
Problem: Many students fear of math and do not practice well. Also they have less interest in this subject. So, there needs to be a solution which help students practice math with more enthusiasm and with less fear.
Solution: Counting Well teaches students interested in math from home in 20 minutes per day. It offers a variety of enjoyable mathematics classes for students in grades 6 through 8, as well as a personalised learning path. Students can benefit from personalised AI-based math workout plans that require little screen time.
Problem: The core task of educational institutions is teaching and also transferring knowledge. Educational institutions such as schools, technical colleges, and education centres are facing major challenges trying to fulfil these core tasks. Especially in times of the corona pandemic, where personal interaction on site is simply impossible. It became tough for students to interact with their teachers.
Solution: Chatbots can help in this scenario by continuously interacting with students and clarifying their queries instantly. Students can take their help during and after their classes and make sure that they do not compromise on learning through a virtual platform.
Problem: There is a lack of Information about the development measures and facilities at the lower levels of Rural India.
Solution: Gram Samvaad is a citizen-centric mobile app, to serve and empower the rural citizens of India, by facilitating single window access by citizens to information at the Gram Panchayat level on various Rural Development programs, covering inter-alia program objectives, scope, and performance. The App presently covers 7 Ministry of Rural Development programs as well as information on the Grants to Local Bodies recommended by the 14th Finance Commission and released there. It is envisaged that this app will help disseminate information, introduce greater transparency and promote accountability at various levels.
Problem: There is need on helping build low-cost houses in both rural and urban regions across the country is expected to boost the affordable housing segment and ancillary industries including cement and steel.
Solution: The Rural Housing mobile application is an android based app that can be directly used by any PMAYG beneficiary. PMAYG beneficiary login is based on One Time Password (OTP) which is sent on his/her mobile number registered on AwaasSoft at the time of house sanctioning. For Inspectors, the login is the same as that they have on AwaasSoft portal. The application aims at capturing the good quality photograph with time-stamp and Geo-coordinates of the houses at each construction stage so that the next installment of financial assistance can be provided to the beneficiary without any delay. Uploaded images are to be further verified by the Block office on AwaasSoft in order to complete the inspection process.
Problem: Majority of farmers in India are small and marginal farmers, who lack the resources as well as knowledge to adequately store their produce, leading to post harvest grain loss as well as deterioration of grain quality. These farmers do not get access to institutional services. This leads to massive loss of produce due to poor storage and also results in exploitation of farmers in the hands of the traders, because farmers need immediate liquidity to cater to their expenses and credit repayments.
Solution: Ergos has one of the most unique models in the Agri-tech landscape. We are building a “Grainbank” which provides doorstep access to end-to-end post-harvest supply chain solutions to small and marginal farmers enabling farmers to convert their grains into tradable digital assets, avail credit against those assets through partner NBFCs and Banks, and get better prices for their produce.
Problem: The traditional process for the management and maintenance of the land records document has been completely manual and paper-based. The process is extremely complex leading to harassment of stakeholders including revenue administration, judiciary, and registration officials and most importantly, to the citizens.
Solution: BHOOMI, a land records management system is a fine example of how e-Governance systems can bring reforms in the area of land administration. Revenue Department in Karnataka has computerized 200 lakh records of land ownership of 67 lakh farmers in the state. All the Record of Rights (RoR) documents have been verified and certified by the revenue authorities before making a digital database as it is the only source of land records.
Problem: The power sector in India is experiencing exponential growth and is emerging as the world’s third-largest electricity producer, but it also suffers from – revenue Leakage and power theft.
Solution: Collaborating with Tata Power-DDL, Hitachi designed a holistic blueprint for the implementation of end-to-end advanced data analysis solutions; deploying world-class technologies to streamline data ingestion from diverse platforms, systematize scheduling of data and execute data engineering on big data along with swift advanced analytics. This aided Tata Power-DDL in taking calculated decisions to eliminate power loss and reduce tariffs for society.
Problem: In India migration is a very normal affair. People migrate temporarily or permanently for education or in search of better jobs and opportunities. No one keeps a track of these data of migrants. We get to know the status of migration every 10 years when the census is done. We saw this huge problem when lockdowns were imposed throughout the country. Migrants were stuck in metro cities; some were even forced to return to back to their hometowns by covering 1000s of Kms barefoot.
Solution: The economic census did interesting research by looking into unreserved train ticket data and analyzing trends from it. The Unreserved train ticked data showed that migration was a seasonal thing. During the agricultural months, fewer people were traveling compared to when they had no work. This data can provide a lot of other information like where the migration is happening, and what are the hotpots where people are migrating to.
